Menuet
CONTEXT
We did this one-day design challenge to see what we could achieve in a fast-paced design process. The research data used in this challenge came from our previous project Menuet.

WHY DOING THIS CHALLENGE?
Menuet business validation revealed the need for restaurant owners to gather business analytics and manage the menu information on Menuet, which intrigued us to take a one-day design challenge to create a paired web app for the restaurant owners.
PROCESS STARTED WITH
What do restaurant owners care about the most?
We did secondary research and referred back to the insights concluded from previously semi-structured interviews with restaurant owners:
Customer’s favorite food
For managing the stock inventory and supply chain more efficiently.
Customer profile
For updating or designing new dishes according to customers’ preferences.
Information management tool
For directly updating the menu and dish availability on the Menuet app.
STRATEGIC IDEATION
Tailoring key components to restaurant owners' needs
According to the interviews, restaurant owners have been busy maintaining their partnerships with mobile platform services, such asUber Eats and Yelp. It’s significant to design a task-focused and asy-to-use management tool, to minimize the time cost while generate more benefit to the business.
CONCEPT SKETCHING
Visualizing information architecture and interfaces
We prioritized the key components on the interface based on the usage frequency that we concluded from previous interviews: overview, analytics, activity feed and menu editor.
FINAL DESIGN
Menuet Dashboard
I used Sketch with Chart plug-in to make the high-fidelity interfaces and charts.
